The safety of our students is our #1 priority. If your student crosses East Houston Street to get to school or after, please remember: BE SEEN, BE SAFE! In the early morning hours, visibility is low. Our crosswalk is equipped with warning lights specifically designed to alert drivers to your presence. We are asking our scholars to do these three things:
1. PUSH THE BUTTON: Always press the button before stepping into the crosswalk.
2. WAIT FOR LIGHTS: Once pushed, the warning lights will activate, making you much more visible to traffic.
3. STAY ALERT: Even with the lights on, always look both ways before crossing.
Don’t skip it! It only takes a second to push the button, and it makes a world of difference for your safety. Let's work together to keep every student safe at Cleveland High School.
