CISD Families - As of right now, Cleveland ISD plans to be open tomorrow, Thursday, May 2nd. However, we are continuously monitoring the weather and will inform families if anything changes by 5AM tomorrow morning.

Due to rising flood waters in the Cleveland area affecting numerous staff and families, all Cleveland ISD campuses and facilities will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. The district will assess the ongoing situation and notify the community about Thursday. Please be safe and we hope to see everyone back at school on Thursday, May 2nd.

Due to flooding concerns, Cleveland ISD will be closing all campuses for the day. Transportation will be provided beginning at 2PM for CHS and C9 students, followed by middle school students, then elementary students. Parents are able to come to campuses now to pick up their child. We will keep families informed on the situation regarding classes tomorrow and the rest of the week.

All after school activities have been canceled for today, 04/30/2024.

CISD Families - If you are located in a high-risk area for flooding and you wish to pick up your child from school early, please contact your child's campus and campus staff with work with you on coordinating a pick up.

CISD Families - Due to an internet outage affecting the entire Cleveland area, all campuses will not have phone services until the internet is repaired.

Congratulations to the 16 CHS staff members who successfully completed Days 1-5 of the CBLI Academy this year. It was a year long commitment to complete this training and the Multilingual Dept is so proud of CHS who had the highest number of successfully completed out of all secondary campuses. A huge thank you to the CHS admin team for making this a priority for their campus! Please join the Multilingual Dept in congratulating them on a year long commitment to learning effective EB strategies!
Additionally, CHS was 1 out of 2 campuses in CISD who was awarded a cooler by Summit K12 for Literacy student engagement in the month of January. Thank you CHS teachers for supporting the growth of our EB learners through this instructional platform and to the admin team for supporting our staff in this initiative. Congratulations to CHS!!

Due to the power outage at the C9 campus, the district has made the decision to close C9 for the remainder of the day. Parents of car riders may pick up their students at the Cleveland High School campus. Car riders will remain at CHS until they are able to be picked up. Bus riders will be dropped off at their normal bus stops beginning at 11:00AM.

C9 Families - The power situation is being assessed at the C9 campus. If power is not restored by 8AM, C9 students will be transported to the CHS gym for holding. We will continue to update C9 families throughout the morning.

It is not just "an eclipse", this will be "THE ECLIPSE" for Texas. Cleveland ISD has decided to close for Monday, April 8th to allow students and staff time to be home with family & friends to experience this once in a lifetime learning opportunity event to make memories, take pictures, make videos together.
The next eclipse is not until 2044 and it will be nowhere near Texas.
Please remember to follow the recommended safety protocols for properly viewing the solar eclipse. We will see all students and staff back on Tuesday, April 9th.
