About Me

Educational History:

I am a 1999 graduate of Kingwood High Schoo, in Kingwood, Texas.  Following high school, I attended Texas A&M University and graduated in May of 2004.

Degrees and Certifications:

I have a B.A. in English from Texas A&M University, with a minor in History.  I earned my teaching certification in 2005 through the alternative certification program at Lone Star College, which allows me to teach grades 8-12 in English/Literature.  I am also AP certified through Rice University.  This summer I will begin pursuing my Master’s Degree through Lamar Univeristy in Education and Administration.

Current Position:

I began teaching at Cleveland High School in 2005 as an English I teacher.  I have been with the school district a total of almost seven years now, returning in 2015 after taking a short break from education.  Currently I teach English I, Reading and AP Literature for Seniors.

Previous Position:

Cleveland High School was my first experience in education in 2005.  I did have the opportunity to teach and coach soccer at Kingwood Park High School and following that, worked for Atascocita High School when coaching became too demanding with two little ones at home.  After teaching for six years, I took a break from education for three years, and worked for the Sales Performance Improvement team with Insperity.  I learned a great deal from the incredible people I worked with there, and will forever be grateful for the opportunity I was blessed with to have been a part of that team.  I gained so much from that experience that I have brought back to the classroon with me and share those experiences and gained knowledge with my students daily.

Family Information:

My life outside of teaching is quite active – I often joke with my students at the end of the day that I am off to my second job :)  I am a mom of two of the best kids in the world, Aaron, my oldest, is 14 years old and heading into high school next year at Kingwood High School. He is wickwed smart, a talented musician and loves to play sports.  I also have a daughter who keeps me on my toes – she is passionate about life and is constantly running at a hundred miles per hour at all times.  She will be in the 7th grade next year at Riverwood Middle School.  She is a cheerleader at RMS and takes all honors level courses, in addtion to being a star basketball player and quite the runner.  Taylor is also involved in National Charity League and loves to serve her community.  I also have two precious bonus-daughters who have been a great blessing in my life.

I am also an aunt to the two most precious little boys, RC and Jackson Reed.  They light up my life and bring so much joy to my family.

I am married to Dallas Hutchinson. We were married in August of 2012 and this summer have been married for 7 years.   We are both graduates of Kingwood High School, both love sports and spending time with our kiddos and nachos.  We love nachos :)  Dallas and I and our family live in Kingwood, Texas.

Personal Information:

My name is Christina Hutchinson and I am currently in my 12th year of teaching.  I am a graduate of Texas A&M Univerysity and my family bleeds maroon.  In the fall, you will find me in College Station for home football games, watching my kiddos on the sports field or home, watching football with my husband.  And on Saturday evenings or Sunday mornings, you will find my whole crew in church, serving and worshipping.

I have lots of hobbies and things I love to do when I am not teaching.  I am an avid runner, I love to write and read, when I can get past the first page without passing out from exhaustion :) I enjoy baking and cooking, when we can find the time, and I LOVE apple pie :)  I truly love serving in our community where my children are in school.  I love to volunteer at their schools when I can find events that fit in with my work schedule, I am involved in National Charity League with my daughter, Taylor, as well as serving on the PTA board at Riverwood Middle School and the Board for Creating for Care, a non-profit started to help children with cancer have the ability to go to summer camp each year.

When I am not teaching you will find me doing any of the above things, at any given time, but mostly you will find me at the fields, shooting hoops with my son, shuttling my daughter back and forth between NCL and cheer events or watching plays that my bonus daughter participates in.  But no matter where you find me, more than likely I will be with my family.  They are my rock and the center of my world.
